Big Boys wear Big-Boy Overalls

and.... Isaac grabbed his bouncy-seat rattle for the first time yesterday (and connected!). And... Eric grabbed the camera in time. Nice work, boys.

Well, USA lost to Ghana 1-2 :(
But Isaac is still all smiles. I love this little face! (of course, I am biased...)

Recent Developments

Isaac is 12 weeks old today. wow!

As you can see from recent bath pictures, "our little dude" is turning into "our little chunk".









































He has started the teething process -- lots of drool and hands in mouth (or fist, or blanket or toy--- what ever he can manage to get in there with his limited motor skills!). Luckily it doesn't seem to hurt him (yet).

He is getting stronger by the day! Check out how well he can hold his head up.

Sleep is going well too...
He is starting to take naps on his own a lot better, and he is consistently sleeping 5-6 hours in a row at night, then going back to sleep for 2-3 hours after eating an early breakfast. Mommy says "thanks, little dude!"

Camping at Deception Pass

Isaac checked off another item from his "firsts" list: camping! We loaded up the car and drove out to Deception Pass state park on Whidbey Island for a weekend camping trip with our "wwu friends". We enjoyed the beautiful views, sunny-ish weather (we were thankful it was dry!), walks along the beach (Lodi loved swimming in the ocean), and some good laughs and stories around the campfire.

Hand to Mouth

In the past week, Isaac has 'found his hands' (as seen in the video below). He has also started grabbing and pulling things towards his mouth. His aim/accuracy isn't great yet, but he's starting to figure out that his hands are tools.

Family

Last week we had a steady flow of "Jabbusch" family visitors! Kelly & Chris (and daughter Myrna) were in town from Sweden, Oma (Christina's grandma) was in town from Ohio, and Kathy & Mick took the ferry over Friday for dinner and a visit. We had wonderful visits & meals with everyone, and were even lucky enough to squeeze some babysitting time out of them too :) I didn't take many pictures, but these photos are courtesy of my Dad/Mark.

Fun in Sun

Saturday was a gorgeous Seattle day -- the first real sunny day we've had in a while. We took advantage of it: we had friends over to watch the USA v. England World Cup match in the morning, and then spent the rest of the afternoon outside grilling and relaxing.

Bathtime

The first couple of times we gave Isaac a bath he fussed and cried-- probably due to inexperienced parents or a very young newborn, or a combination of both. But, now that we have gotten the hang of it (water temperature just right, keeping him warm through-out and not getting water in his eyes), he loves it! We 'graduated' him from a sponge bath to a mini-tub bath... And here are pics to prove it:

Sounders Win Big!

Last Saturday we took the family to the Sounders vs. New England Patriots soccer match, and the Sounders won big, defeating New England 3-0. The Sounders hadn't scored at home in a few games, so this was very exciting (phew!). Plus, it was a sunny night at Qwest stadium, so it was a perfect night to bring Isaac. (We didn't have our regular camera, but we took photos with our phone, so the quality is just so-so.)

First, we went for dinner & beers at McCoys restaurant in Pioneer Square (kids allowed!). Isaac promptly fell asleep:

But he eventually he woke up to eat, and cheered on the first goal which was scored 4 minutes into the game (an awesome goal by Leo Gonzales). Mom and Isaac missed the second and third goal (by Steve Zakawani and Freddy Montaro, respectively), but we did get to enjoy the beautiful sunset....And by the end of the game he was pretty tuckered out, but muy contento with Dad:

Overall, a great outing and another "adventure in parenthood" ...

2 Months!

Isaac is 2 months old! He's a healthy and GROWING boy!

He had his 2-Month doctor's appointment today. He is doing great, and survived his vaccinations (3 shots!). He cried right after the shots, but recovered quickly after some snuggle-time with Mom.

When Isaac was born his stats were:
7lbs 4oz (25th percentile), 20" long (50th percentile).

At 2-months he is: 13lbs 6.5oz (84th percentile!) and 24.5" long (97th percentile!)

The doctor called him a "banana baby" -- ie long and not as chubby (his height-to-weight percentile is only 5-10%)

We knew he was a hungry boy; this is reassuring that we are doing everything well and that he is thriving. And, not to mention a happy baby:

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a fun-filled Memorial Day weekend!

Friday we went to Phinney Farmers Market to pick up some flowers and dinner fixings, stopped at Naked City Brewery for good brew and made pizzas with friends Tony & Amanda. Here are the flowers we picked up, and Christina & Isaac at Naked City:

Saturday was a futbol day! We watched the USA vs. Turkey world cup send-off match (USA won!) and we went to a bbq to watch the Sounders play Colorado--they lost despite Isaac's cheering: Sunday we worked around the house in the morning, went to an afternoon Paella party, and then went to dinner at Barking Dog with grandma and grandpa Jabbusch.

And, Sunday we had a relaxing day, resting up for the week ahead!
