Isaac's Fall Festival - 2014

Isaac had his annual fall festival program at preschool last week. It is always a fun opportunity to see him with his friends, see what he is learning and interested in, and meet the other families.

Yup, that about sums up our last couple of weeks. 

I had a birthday. We got to do some shopping with my parents, and then did an evening downtown for dinner and the Sounders match.

Do I look too happy to be out, childless?

This weekend Isaac and I ventured to Bellevue Square to see friends and go to dinner. The playground there is always a big hit.

I got to go wedding shopping with my sister! Such a fun and special day. I can't show a picture of her in the dress, but here is a silly one of me trying on accessories.

I.O. is really adjusting well to preschool, and loves to "work" -- what they call the lesson and learning time. Here he is working on his cutting skills -- just working away at his desk.

 And of course, hard work is rewarded with play!

Between Isaac's fall festival program at preschool, visits with family, and enjoying some fall sunshine, we had a great week. Oh, and Isaac got Spider-Man PJs that he (literally) hasn't taken off since opening up the package....

Halloween Spirit

Fall is officially here, and we're all getting in the Halloween spirit.

Yup, all of us.

A housewarming party was overdue, so we had a spooky housewarming party this weekend. I had almost as much fun decorating as I did seeing so many good friends.

I was too busy socializing at the party that I forgot to take photos. Hopefully I can snag some from friends this week.

Today, Isaac and I continued the Halloween spirit by painting pumpkins. I really like Isaac's abstract "rainbow" pumpkin.

Fall Days & The Great Outdoors

We were spoiled in Park City with so much nature in the near vicinity. But, we're reminded every day that Seattle is quite amazing as well. Here are a few photos of us out and about in the neighborhood, and right in our own back yard (literally).

Fall is Here!

Thanksgiving Weekend 2012

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We've had quite the fun week.  Isaac was off daycare Wednesday through Friday. I was off Wednesday and Thursday, and Eric was off Thursday and Friday, so we each got a full day with the little guy.  The big snow from a couple weeks ago has melted around town, so we enjoyed playing outside before the winter really hits Park City.  Here's the run-down:

Thanksgiving dinner! (prime rib with the usual sides... green bean salad, creamed spinach, stuffing and sweet potato fries per Isaac's request).  He wore his Thanksgiving hat for a good portion of the day.

Homemade play dough was a BIG hit.  He loved practicing cutting with a plastic knife

Also of note, Eric brewed two batches of beer this weekend.  He's been rocking and rolling with brewing lately.  Currently in the pipeline:  smoked porter, sour cherry stout, coffee & cream stout, helles lager, rye lager and Schwarzbier.  It's gonna be a yummy winter!

And of course, the weekend was full of calls and skypes to family and friends.  We hope everyone enjoyed time with family and a few good bites to eat as well.

The sun before the snow

We are enjoying the sun before the snow comes to stay for a few months.  Today we did a mini-hike with Isaac and Lodi up Armstrong trail.  To make it fun for Isaac he was on a leaf hunt.  He collected leafs and sticks in his bucket.  When we got home we did an art project with them.  A fun way for everyone to get outside on a Sunday afternoon!

And a weekend isn't complete without many visits to the park!  He's getting a lot better at climbing these ropes.

Happy Halloween everyone!!

Seeing as how Isaac celebrated last week at his daycare Halloween party, he was pretty set that today wasn't Halloween.  Likewise, we didn't go out trick-or-treating tonight. But, the little guy did look pretty darn cute this morning in his newsboy hat.
