7 Months [Oliver]

It seems like just yesterday Oliver was born, and yet here we are with a 7 month old! Where did the time go?

Every day Oliver is getting more mobile, more animated, and more fun!

This month he is:

• Pulling up easily from a sit to a stand, then cruising around the furniture. (He's far less interested in being on his tummy. He will get up to all fours, but shows no real interest in crawling. He is super happy standing, though. Maybe he'll skip crawling altogether?)

• Laughing and giggling a lot, and making a lot of different sounds (see video below).

• Eating more of a variety of foods, and starting on some finger foods. He's great at asking for more by touching our arm, or waving his arms up and down.

• Sleeping through the night! We implemented the "Sleep Sense" program, and it worked wonders. We're on a consistent schedule and we're all getting so much more rest.

What else are we up to? Well, Eric started a new job this month. Here is Oliver cheering for his dad.

It helps to know that when Dad says this ("Did Daddy Nail It? Nailed It!") it gets a huge giggle from Oliver, just as it did from Isaac.

Ollie also likes to "help" Mom with conference calls.

And, here we are enjoying the sunny spring weather.

Mom's Day Program 2013

Isaac's daycare has an annual Mother's Day luncheon and program. It's a lovely time to come see him and all his daycare friends and Moms. His teacher provides lunch, and the kids perform a few songs for the Moms. Here's Isaac performing this year:

Swan Dive, Snowboarding & a Hair Cut

Oh, the fun we have on weekends! A few highlights from last weekend:

First (in no chronological order) -- swimming on Sunday!

Isaac is a fish (like his mom).  Check out this video of him dunking and diving (ie swan dive, aka belly flop).



Second, on Saturday (see-- no chronological order here)... Isaac went snowboarding with his best friend Haven.  It was a stormy morning, but they had a blast on the bunny hill, and in the lodge catching up.

And lastly, Isaac got a hair cut!  Just a couple cute photos from last week.

Soccer Moves 101

Isaac knows 10 different Sounders FC chants, sleeps with a soccer ball and, if he had his way, would wear soccer outfits exclusively.  So it's no surprise that he's picked up a few soccer moves.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Isaac Otto

Look who is 2!

More photos of his birthday here.  We were definitely missing family, but appreciated all of the cards, calls & skype visits to wish Mr. Isaac Otto a happy #2.  It wasn't the huge birthday bash we had last year, but it was perfect....

We celebrated all day Sunday with many of his favorite things: yeast-raised-waffles, gymnastics open gym, the park & cupcakes.  Today (Monday), he had a party at Ms. Terri's (his daycare) and we celebrated at home again tonight.  He had a ton of fun opening all of his gifts.  He was pretty excited about new puzzles, a transformer, an RC car, sunglasses, new books and new clothes.  I was feeling a little sentimental about my baby boy turning two already, and forced everyone to look at pictures from his birth-day.

Here is Isaac at his first gymnastics open gym. Eric took him last Sunday while I was snowboarding with some girlfriends. It was a huge hit, and we plan to take him every Sunday.

Sledding Part 3

He was a little scared after his last adventure sledding (and face-planting).  But, he held on tight to me our first time down and I could here him laughing, so I knew we were good again.  This video was our 3rd time down, and we ended up going about 10 times before we called it a day.  Back in the saddle again!

Isaac's Who's Who

Visit with "Gampa"

Isaac's grandpa, Don, visited for a few days last week.  Don was passing through on a cross-country motorcycle trip and he was our first official visitor.

 And of course, the sweetest thing was that Grandpa and Isaac really bonded.  After Don left, Isaac was asking for "gampa" and doing his sign/noise for motorcycle "vroom vroom."  We're very excited for their next visit, and look forward to having "Gamma" here too!

And, we attended Isaac's last swim lesson last night (it was a 6-week class). It was a lot of fun and Isaac does great in the water.  At the last class they got to "jump" from the side:

 We'll probably take a break from the lessons this summer, but plan to sign up again in the fall.

Superbowl According to Isaac

Our friend Ryan took some video at our Superbowl party yesterday!  This video is a little long (5 minutes), but charming. If you don't watch the whole video, be sure to check out the really sweet baby interactions at 1:55 and 3:23  The other babies are Irene, who lives down the street with her parents Phil & Grace, and Lola, whose parents Bryce & Sarah we know through BBQ friends.  They are both about 4 months old.
