Famous (Infamous?)

Most of you have seen this by now, but just in case...

I guess our chance of receiving "parents of the year" award is out of the picture.

 Isaac was so happy after his bath today so I couldn't resist... plus I LOVE this quilt that Mary made for him.

Watching Football (& Eating Well)

Go Seahawks!  The football season has started!  Here's Eric & Isaac watching the game last Sunday.  Isaac's look of skepticism was well-deserved... they lost.

Speaking of clothes, I just love this outfit (especially the pants) that Grandma Merhar gave to Isaac:

And, what's a football game without some tasty eats? Tony & Amanda came over to watch the game so I whipped up a couple of homemade pizzas for the occasion; a white pie with potato and sage and a red pie with peperoni, onion, garlic and moz (Eric's favorite).

And, last but not least.... on Friday we got over to Bellevue for a lunchtime visit.  I just love this picture of Isaac and my mom (photo courtesy of my Dad). What great smiles!!

Plum Harvest

Ready for harvesting!

We picked lots and lots of plums... at least 3-4 big grocery bags full.  We gave a lot away, but kept some to eat and cook with.  Here are the two concoctions we whipped up this year:

Plum Muffins = delicious! (who knew?)

And Plum Jam.  It turned out pretty well and it was my first time canning (I'd prefer the jam to be a thicker consistency, but it tastes great. it would be fabulous over baked brie).

Bibs

Grandma Merhar made Isaac these great full-length bibs which are perfect for the messy pursuit of eating cereal.  At my baby shower, Debi (grandma) and Mary modeled grown-up versions!  Who's cuter?  It's a close call...

Sitting Up

Isaac is getting really good at sitting up!  (and drooling on everything... his teething is in full force).  He is exploring his environment more each day and is getting very 'grabby'.  He's pulled down one plant twice (time to move the plant!).

Tonight he was sitting up, on his own, for a good 3-4 minutes! 

Sitting + Drool = Awesome

Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day weekend activities:  a wedding celebration Saturday, a rockin' BBQ with friends Sunday, dining out at Naked City Brewery, Fremont Brewing & Diamond Knot Lincoln Avenue (see a theme?), lots of house work & yard work and, of course, enjoying the time off as a family!
