Soccer Moves 101

Isaac knows 10 different Sounders FC chants, sleeps with a soccer ball and, if he had his way, would wear soccer outfits exclusively.  So it's no surprise that he's picked up a few soccer moves.

As the snow melts and it quickly turns to spring, we're dusting off our bikes & running shoes, and enjoying the sun!  Eric has a new mountain bike, and I've signed up for a few running races this summer.  It's been a busy month so far with work, play and visitors. So in lieu of a detailed blog post, here are a couple of photos and a link to our photo album with recent pictures, including some lost photos of Isaac's birthday, Grandpa Merhar's recent visit to Park City and Eric's biking/camping trip to Moab last weekend. Happy 2nd Birthday, Isaac Otto

Look who is 2!

More photos of his birthday here.  We were definitely missing family, but appreciated all of the cards, calls & skype visits to wish Mr. Isaac Otto a happy #2.  It wasn't the huge birthday bash we had last year, but it was perfect....

We celebrated all day Sunday with many of his favorite things: yeast-raised-waffles, gymnastics open gym, the park & cupcakes.  Today (Monday), he had a party at Ms. Terri's (his daycare) and we celebrated at home again tonight.  He had a ton of fun opening all of his gifts.  He was pretty excited about new puzzles, a transformer, an RC car, sunglasses, new books and new clothes.  I was feeling a little sentimental about my baby boy turning two already, and forced everyone to look at pictures from his birth-day.

Just a Good Little Weekend

I was feeling just about this happy, too, after last weekend-- it was so much fun!

Friday night we had a delightful dinner out at a local woodfire pizza restaurant.  Isaac enjoyed having his own kids-sized pizza all to himself.  And the gelato sampler was a huge hit too.

Saturday we went to our local ski hill for a pond-skimming competition--- a silly, spring time tradition where contestants ski down a hill into a pond--- complete with silly costumes and big splashes.

Sunday was filled with Isaac's gymnastic open gym, and as the snow starts to melt in Park City, we've been  re-acquainting ourselves with our neighborhood park.  Happy spring!?

I'm not sure what was more exciting at the zoo:  the animals, the ride on the "choo choo" train, or the "under construction" areas (excavators!). But any way you slice it, it was a memorable Sunday morning for this almost-2-year-old boy:
